iv Why
My first semester I didnt care about how much and what I made. This semester I really realized that ceramics can be very useful. It can be easy and a great way to make yourself feel great and accomplished while eating. So two plusses. When I got in advanced ceramics I started to make things that are much more usable and serve a distinct purpose as much as possible. Although it is fun to make cool shapes and glaze in cool ways. I would love to be able to use my ceramics for a long time. In the semesters past I have been very lazy with my glazing and decided that I need to try and make it look better. In this semester I tried to be more effective and glaze with a purpose.
v Conclusion
When throwing on the wheel I think of how I want to glaze the project and what i could do differently compared to what I have already made on the wheel. On my (M) bowl I used just blue to keep it simple so many people could use it. Also my family really enjoys the color blue so I tend to make a lot of my projects blue or green keeping it in a dark color range. Although I have been trying to make things a little bit lighter to add some contrast to me projects. On my vase I dipped scrap bowl and made a very usable pretty elegant shape making it pretty and sophisticated while still having this cool drip come from the bottom up making it beautiful while a still usable vase. The more projects I made and the more I threw, I would think about new glazes i could do with different things. I used some buckets to pour different but not too competing glazes to make it very nice and different without being disruptive. I love ceramics 😊
